High Fire; this firing process requires the kiln to reach a temperature of 2,400°F. It usually takes around 16 hours in order to reach this temperature. The kiln that I use was hand made John Ouellette out of fire safe bricks that are carefully pieced together to keep the heat in.

Why high fire?

I enjoy using the high firing process because it allows me to create durable, functional ware that people can use in their daily lives. It gives me great pleasure and fulfillment to hear people say that they use something I’ve made on a daily basis. That for me is the ultimate compliment.
